Verizon Theatre -  June 24, 2010

CONGRATULATIONS and thank you to Team Shell volunteers, sponsors, riders, and organizers for another outstanding year! Team Shell earned five team awards which were presented at the 2010 MS150 Awards Party.

1. Gold Safety Award - We received this award for our bike safety leadership and for upholding a strict standard for riding safety throughout the training season and the MS150 Tour.  Special thanks to our safety trainers, ride marshals, and MS150 Safety Committee members for their leadership.  But more importantly, thanks to all of you for embracing and promoting safe riding.

2. Top-Fundraiser Award - Awarded to the top 10 teams. We finished in 4th place this year (3 spots higer than last year).  Please pass on our appreciation to your sponsors who made this possible.

3. Most Improved Fundraising Team

4. Mission Possible Award - This award was presented to teams who have demonstrated strong commitment to the cause through fundraising and volunteerism.

5.
Green Team Award - For the team that demonstrated the greatest commitment to the environment: recycling, carpooling, etc.

Additionally, Shell retiree, Bill Edwards was recognized by the MS Society with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his many contributions over the years to cycling. He served many years on the MS 150 Safety Committee, was a trainer and mentor to many cyclists ranging from competitive racers to recreational riders and was a outstanding rider in his own right, winning a number of Senior Olympic events in recent years. Bill passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer and his award was received by his wife, Sarah.
