2-25-2009 Newsletter This week's newsletter will be brief and not in the normal glossy
format! I'd like to recognize Alan Bazard, Eric Thiede, Dana Timeaus, and Chuck
D'Angelo who together with myself taught on-bike safety to approximately
70 Team Shell riders this past Sunday. For the few of you out there who
are still delinquent on their training, please sign up for the last class
offered by Team Shell on Sunday March 8, 2-4pm, at Rice University:
http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/survey.zgi?p=WEB228P4A5TUC5. This weekend's CP training ride will be on Sunday, March 1st, not the
usual Saturday. The ride will Start at Montgomery High School and will be
a joint effort with the Conroe High School Drill Team's Gold Rush ride.
Between large attendance and limited parking, carpooling and early arrival
are STRONGLY recommended. The weather forecast for Sunday will be mid 40's
at the start and warming up into the low 60's by late morning. Dressing in
layers would be most appropriate for these conditions, i.e. arm/leg
warmers, toe covers, skull cap, light weight long-fingered gloves, and a
light wind breakers. This way you can start warm then peel off layers
that you no longer need as the temperature rises. - Saturday Feb 28: Team Shell Ride (8am, Katy Mills), 44/63 miles |
